[Vera 2 Upgrade Tool]
This Upgrade tool is know to be working on Windows XP (or other version with tftp command built in). Make sure you have only one network interface (card) installed. If you have a wireless card as well, please disable it before proceeding. Please deactivate all Firewall and Antivirus software which is running just for the upgrade process.
Set the IP on your computer with the following settings:
IP: 192.168.1.5 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Plug PC into Vera ETH2. Holding down Vera's reset button, turn Vera on. When releasing power button, power LED should be blinking. Start [vera2_upgrade_tool.zip]. Click "Browse target" button. Vera should appear in targets list. Click on "*UN*checkPID" radiobox, and click on "EraseNormal" dropdown box. Click the [Files] button. Download the file: [micasaverde_backfire_v8.bin] and save it on your computer. Select the file [micasaverde_backfire_v8.bin] Click the [Open] button to get the file. Click on the [OK] button on the BIN File Information dialog box. Click on the [Upgrade] button. File will be flashed, and you will see a dialog box saying success - close Upgrade Tool. Download the latest firmware ( .trx file ) from here: [1] and save it to your computer. Open browser to 192.168.1.1. At the authentication dialog, enter password "admin" and no user name. At the MiCasVerde.com branded page, it reads "Please upgrade to the latest firmware." Browse for the .trx file which you saved on your computer, click on the [Open] button, click on the [Upload new firmware] button. Browser goes to next page automatically, reading "Upgrade complete. Rebooting..." - click on the [Continue] button. Browser goes to next page "http://192.168.1.1/firmware.asp", but the Vera is rebooting, ignore the web page. Wait about 10 mins for your new system to reboot and the ETH1 light start double blinking or it's solid. When you see the ETH1 double blinking or it's solid, you are done.
