Coming soon Vera will allow you to use your iPhone or iPod touch as a handy universal remote control. You will see the buttons for your TV and Stereo on the iPhone/iPod display, and when you touch the button, Vera will send the command to your TV/Stereo, just like you were using the original factory remote or a normal universal remote. You will need an infrared transmit device which you will put in front of the TV/Stereo. This is what sends the actual command to the TV/Stereo. This feature, and the infrared transmit device, should be available in February, 2009.

When new features like this are available, Vera will tell you that she has new software and can update herself. Naturally there is never a charge for software updates, and Vera will keep all your settings and configuration when you tell her to upgrade the software.
