The current iPhone/iPod touch interface that is shipping with Vera is just 'beta' and isn't fully implemented. We are adding a new, full featured iPhone integration.
December, 2008
We should be ready to release support for Global Cache gc-100, which has infrared transmitters, so Vera can be used to control TV's and stereos.
We are pushing to have a beta version of the media extension for Vera. This is a NAS device that you attach to the network. It handles media cataloging, streaming, ripping, and works with low-cost DMA's for playback. Vera provides the central control, so you have full control on the TV's with DMA's, and Vera also puts the NAS and DMA's in standby when they're not being used to conserve energy.
