My MiCasaVerde setup experience.

I already have my network setup with a firewall and wireless router. I read the instructions and it specified that the device will auto detect your network and adjust it's settings. It did this just fine but it didn't turn on the wireless. I couldn't access the device using the instructions in the package which is why I'm writing this setup synopsis.

How I accessed my device:
I ran an IP scan and recorded all the live IPs. I then connected the device and ran it again and saw which was the new IP.

I put that IP into the browser and was able to access and configure the device. After doing this I thought that it might be easier to have created a MAC address/IP reservation on my router for the device. Even plugging directly into the device didn't help, findvera.com was not able to locate the device even though I was getting a good IP and internet access.

Are there firewall rules that need to be put into place first or does the device need to be the DNS server?

Anyone else have issues setting up the device initially?

Also, is the findvera.com service up and running yet? On the findvera tab all I get is instructions and this in red at the bottom:

FindVera remote server not assigned.
